United went ahead in the 15th minute through Enock Sakala Jr with a header scoring past Scot Ngokene.
Sydney Phiri equalized in the 35th minute with a shot from outside the box from his own long throw in which the Zesco United defense failed to clear convincingly.
Zesco United were awarded a penalty 5 minutes later after Dominic Chanda was alleged to have handled in the box.
Adrian Chama scored the penalty to make it 1-2 in favor of Zesco at halftime.
Jimmy NDHLOVU limped off the field of play with a hamstring forcing a change in the second half.
